Sulitjelma Visitors' Mine

In the Visitors' Mine you enter into the realm of the mine worker. You get to see how the ore is embedded in the mountain, and you get an impression of what was needed in order to transform it into copper. You dress in the mine worker's get-up, called "lomp ", and helmet, and go with the mine locomotive for 1, 5 km into the mountain. There, you may see how mining and transportation of ore was carried out in Sulitjelma You should also sense a little of how life was for the people who had their workingday here.

A tour of the Visitors' Mine takes from two to four hours, depending on how much you want to see. Tours are led by guides with extensive knowledge of Sulitjelma. Afterwards, you may buy a mine certificate as a proof that you have been inside the miner's realm.
